SIMPLE DIY ELDERBERRY SYRUP RECIPE + TUTORIAL

Prepare your own Sailor Mercy Elderberry Syrup with our easy dry ingredient kit!! 

 

INGREDIENTS:

**For the 32oz kit, use full kit along with 1 1/2 cups of sweetener and 5-6 cups of water** 

DIRECTIONS:

Pour contents of bag into a pot with water, bring to a boil and then cover. Reduce to a LOW simmer for 30 minutes. Remove from heat and let cool to room temperature.

 Pour through a fine mesh strainer (or squeeze through cheese cloth) into a bowl. Smash remaining berries to extract more liquid. Discard the leftover berry mash.

Add honey or sweetener of choice and stir well. Pour liquid into a jar with lid and store in the refrigerator. Elderberry Syrup will up to 3 months when refrigerated properly.

16oz Instant Pot Preparation: Pour contents of bag into Instant Pot and add water. Place lid on and set vent to “Sealing.” Cook on “Manual” for 5 minutes. Do a quick pressure release, remove the lid, and set to “Sauté.” Boil the syrup for 3-5 minutes. Pour through a fine mesh strainer or squeeze through cheese cloth into a bowl. Smash remaining berries to extract more liquid. Discard the leftover berry mash. Add honey or sweetener of choice and stir well. Pour liquid into a jar with lid and store in the refrigerator.

SUGGESTED DOSING:

  • Adults: 1 tablespoon daily 

  • Kids: 1 teaspoon daily

FOR MORE INTENSIVE USE:

  • Adults: 1 tablespoon, three times daily 

  • Kids: 1 teaspoon, three times daily
